Default M6 spark smoothing?

It is on by default, but what exactly does this do? Is it simiar to torque management (adjust spark when shifting to put less stress on tranny)? Any benefits/drawbacks of turning this off?

Default

it is used to try and smooth low speed jerkyness due to the M6 tranny. Turning it off won't hurt anything but you may discover you want it back on again if you do a lot of driving in traffic crawling along in 1st or 2nd gear...
