Default HPTuners and winXP ?
Ive had HPTuners for a while now, never had a problem from day one. I decided to installed windows XP on my laptop recently, and re-installed the HPTuners software. Now I can no longer connect to my PCM. Is there something I need to do or a certain issue HPTuners has with XP? Anything and all info appreciated. Thanks

Can't even connect w/the Scanner software? Any error messages?

Are you using a USB to Serial adapter? (if so check the manufacturer site for updated drivers)

In the help file it has the reccommended COM port settings... make sure yours match those too...

No, I still have the serial adapter. It says there are no open ports.

both my desk top and lap top run XP home and have not caused a problem for me with HPT

Default Problem Solved
After some more research I found out that a burnt cig lighter fuse will cause this. I checked it out and sure enough. Up and going. Thanks.

doh... so simple I didn't even think to bring it up... was relating the switch to XP as the possible problem (thinking drivers) instead of the simplest solution ...
