Well Brent, using a stock PCM didn't work, we pulled the vavle cover and looked for broken spring, nothing

I also had to change oil, due to gas getting in the oil from running really rich

Other than that we swapped coil packs/plug wires, TB, MAF, tried 2 different PCM's

It was pretty cool seeing the car idle at 550 rpm

Going to try swaping fuel injector and if that doesn't work, I going Charlie

Ok there little Brother, watch the emoticons!

Let's see things tried:

Retuning w/ HPT, using 2 different stock tunes, and a modified few.
Swapped MAF's, TB, Coil Packs, Wires, Plugs, PCM's, O2's, O2 Extension harnesses.
Checked springs, rocker arms and pushrods.
Checked all ground connections.

Once lil man up above gets his ball and chain off his tail, he can swap the injectors, and STFU about the tuning, if not, then it has got to be a wiring problem in the Pass side harness, maybe O2 harness or injector. although I did here all the injectors open and close, and they all sound the same, hopefully one or more is messed up, check #6 first!

Putting all the computer mumbo-jumbo aside, running crappy at idle then OK at higher rpms used to be an indication of a vacuum leak. Did you check/retorque the intake manifold? Do the hose-to-your-ear trick along the head-to-manifold contact to easily check.

Ah Ha! It runs like **** all the time. Idle is actually the best its been earlier yesterday, around 650rpm with the MS3 sounds awesome. But, there is the popping (not as bad now) whenever there is a transition in the fuel TPS, and here n there with it at a constant rpm..It sounded great idling last night, then backed it out to run down the street and viola, as soon as it started off the idle, pop, boom bam!

nothing was changed but the tune?

your symptoms sound alot like when I did my heads/cam swap and I accidently put the drivers side coil packs on backwards so that sides firing order was of course off and the car ran but just barely and it popped and sputtered like a ****.

98's were cursed with that coil pack issue. 99+ doesnt care how the coild go back on the car

Not the case, they only write the same amount as EFILive and HPT, they just take alot longer to do it and errrr kinda get lost along the way sometimes.

Edit offers no entire PCM flash at all, just another nail in the coffin really.

From the carputing website -
"To minimize programming time, we do not completely reprogram the PCM, only the data segments."

When Edit killed my PCM the dealershit with a Tech 2 couldnt do nothing for me. handed it back to me and told me to use it as a paperweight.

Well, changed injectors and nothing, did a compression test and all cylinders good

Could the wiring harness be bad?

I'm still not liking HPT right now and you guys can blame the operator, but his tuning worked in two cars and fucked up mine

Just thought I would chime in after reading the whole thread!

One or more of your sensors could be crapping out on you. The somewhat intermittent nature of the good and bad running sounds more like a sensor than programming. Programming should mess the car up all the time, not get better some times.

You could try swapping out the MAF with a known good one to see if it makes a difference.

You could swap out the oxygen sensors with known good ones to see if it makes a difference.

MAP and IAT could be checked out too.

Good luck with the gremlins.

More Power....Here it what has been swapped etc.

My MAF onto his car, plus my TB, plus my ignition coil packs, plus new injectors, new o2's new wires and new plugs, 2 different 2002 PCM's on his car also...Still POS.

His MAF, Coil Packs, TB, Wires and plugs onto my car, mine still runs great, his PCM on another 2002 car, the other car ran fine.

Bank 2 LTFT goes to max shortly after open loop and stays there pretty much. It drove back to his house decent, popped and spit and sputtered during accel tip in, but once at 60, 65 or 70mph it ran just fine. His IFR table looked correct bounced off other 30# users tables.

Grab a Tech-2 and check the cam and crank signals...
