Does Ed Wright lock LS1 pcms?
I've had quite a few LT1 pcms that I couldn't read from or write too because they were Ed Wright PCMs, but now I have a LS1 pcm that won't allow me to read it. It is a PCM that Ed did back about two years ago. Has anyone ran into this with one of his PCMs on a LS1 car? I'm going to try and call him in the morning, but I was wanting a little more info before I gave him a ring.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I think it depends on the mood he's in that day. I've looked at a couple of his PCMs that he tuned a couple of years ago that were locked with LS1edit. You could read the file out of the PCM with LS1edit, but you couldn't open the file. (I had access to an unlimited LS1edit) I could read and open them with HPTuners though, although I never tried to write over them. I have heard from some local Tulsa people that he is not locking them now, but I guess only Ed would know for sure.

Ran into this a few weeks ago, a buddy of mine had Ed write do his in Oct of 03 and it is locked. I called Ed Wright, didnt get to talk to Ed himself, but they told me that they quit locking pcms about a year ago. Said they would unlock the pcm for $150. We havent decieded for sure, but I think we will just reflash and start from scratch with a new tune. I understand why they do it, but I think it is wrong not to tell the customer. Good luck. :punch
