Default bcm differences?

hi, i was wondering if there were any differences in the wiring or in the workings of a 99 v6 bcm vs. a 2000 v8 bcm? I am in the process of trying to get my project car to work and i found out that the interior i got for my car came with a 99 v6 body control module, i was wondering if this would still work with my 2000 v8 pcm that i have for my engine? Does anyone know if this could be whats causing my car to crank but not start? it does start on starting fluid and runs for about 30 seconds. I have also found the resistor value for the vats key and bypassed that.
Thanks for the help

Just a wild guess on start up. Do you have fuel pressure?

Body control moduals are the same. sounds like a vats security problem or a wiring with the fuel system like racecar says. When you turn on the key do you hear the fuel pump turn on for a second? if not, check to see if the computer is outputing a negative signal from pin number 9 on the red computer plug it will be a green /white trace wire. or check for a working relay.
