Default STUPID Problem/HELPPP!!!!

I bought my car a year ago, had a hypertech in it. Used it for a while then I SWEAR i removed the program when i pulled the motor out of the car. Well has u can see in my sig, I have some mods now. Well I was going to sell the hypertech today and I went to install it in his car and the vin did not match. So I plugged it back in my car and it was still installed in my PCM. I just got a full tune from Straightline and now what do I do. I actually pulled the programming from the hypertech and now my check engine light is on and I have the stock rev limiter back and def. a loss of Power. Only thing I noticed, It idles way better then ever. Either way, did I pull all the tuning out that I just had done? This is the 2nd tune I've done, the first one was a mailorder so I mailed my PCM out to TSP. I thought that the programming from the hypertech went away if u pulled the battery for a while??? Well it was off for 5 months or so while building my motor. Let me know what happen PLEASE.

The hypertech programing will always stay in the Pcm. Disconnecting the battery will not remove it. You had the setting's modified when they did your tune. I would say you have 2 options, 1 keep the hypertech and reinstall the programming and be done with it. Or remove the hypertech and have the car retuned. I guess it would be a toss up money wise. no, you lost your custom tune, since it does not copy the modified tune back out of the car, when going back to stock, so you will need to get your pcm reflashed by the shop that tuned it.

I've done the same thing with a predator to a tsp mail order tune. Your going to have to have it reflashed.

I might be helping this guy reinstall his tune. Would i run into any problems if the shop sent me the .bin and then I just upload it? Doesnt matter what computer installs the bin right as long as the .bin is from the same car?
