Default Can you calculate the Effective Area of your TB?

Looking and Looking at how simple the progamming works in the LS1, I imagine you can calculate the effective area of your throttle body. Anyone want to help find a calculation?

Do you mean area as a function of throttle position? Did you switch to a 90mm throttle body or something?

Could you just pipette a volume of liquid in the TB (which blade closed) to determine the total volume. Then solve for area.

It should be something like this:

Area = Pi * (D/2)^2 * (1-cos(.9*TPS%))

Where D is the diameter of the throttle blade, TPS% is throttle position in percent, and cosine is done in degrees.

Does this table only need to be modifed when putting a larger TB and/or intake in? Like for me who has a stock TB and stock LS6 intake, but a 228/232 .600" lift 112lsa cam is it necessary?
