That one was dropped packets too. I think you guys just need to adjust your serial port settings myself. If you are using a USB-serial converter that could be the culprit too.

i don't get it. What's the dropped packets got to do with me actually feeling the blip. I feel a miss. Granted that's not what it is, I just mean I feel it...the scanner is just a monitor persea(sp?). Dropping packets and causing this on the monitor is one thing, but I actually feel it. Does that make sense?

yeah the moer i look at it, it isnt a dropped packet. usually you lose everthing for a second. If you feel it obviously it isnt the scanner. dunno what it is though

one more question though, i notice some blips in mine when logging, some of the time all the numbers go to 0 or far negarive (assuming if its all of them its the connection issue) but sometimes the fuel trims will just drop to 0 mostly short term, and the others will stay the same, what would cause the stft's to go to -100?

im gonna see if i can try another serial cable if i have one sitting around

It's not uncommon for the VCM to drop packets while scanning. Scan data is the last priority on the list of things to do. You are also scanning at the highest rate the VCM can handle. If it has to talk to other modules on the car, that data comes first.

I'll try and contact them Monday, but I still feel the miss or blip.

That's an interesting idea. Could logging slow down the PCM's reaction time and cause the issue?

logging could cause missing spots in the log when the pcm cant put out that data, but maybe it works the other way too, giving out too much data and not changing things it needs to? losing control of the frame on the log AND certain response to certain conditions. try and go out and log only one parameter next time and see if it happens. maybe this will show something

I thought that too when read this thread, but seems unlikely - that would be pretty poor programming by GM, if the high-priority tasks could get delayed by low-priority stuff like responding to info requests.

might just be a problem with processor speed and amount of available memory, delphi isnt going to over engineer something it would cost more money.
