Default GM Computer Updates?

After some searching around, I've read that some people have had their computer updated by GM. There's nothing really wrong with my car (15k miles) aside from audible detonation (spark knock), especially on hot days, probably due to 91 oct CA gas. I don't have access to ls1edit or efi live or anything. I looked up on http://calid.gm.com
and found the following available updates for my pcm:
P/N 12212156 CVN:N/A Operating system
P/N 9358578 CVN: 0000B674 Engine
P/N 9358904 CVN: 0000C84F Engine Diagnostic
P/N 9358250 CVN: 00002879 Transmission Calibration
P/N 16264430 CVN: 0000E604 Transmission Diagnostic Calibration
P/N 16264619 CVN: 00000185 Fuel System Calibration
P/N 9373542 CVN: 0000F230 System
P/N 9362082 CVN: 0000FB5E Speedometer Calibration

I have no idea what any of this means, especially the transmission stuff since I have an M6?
Should I try to have this stuff updated before my warranty expires? Could any of this help with my detonation? I know that once this stuff is updated I can't go back.
Your input is much appreciated

I bet all they'll do is pull out timing and make your
normal performance worse, to kill pinging. But what
you really want is to just turn on the fans.

Look for somebody local w/ HPTuners licensed for
your model*year.

You can't go by what you see on that website, unless you know the calibration numbers you currently have. You may already have those! You would need a scantool of some sort to see what you have. If you do find there is a new calibration, GM isn't going to update it just because you want it. The updates are there to address specific problems, so if your not complaining about whatever problem the update it for, it won't be done.

I agree with the above post. Find somebody with HP Tuners lisenced for what you have, or get your own. Then you can have it your way

The dealer will (should) update your PCM if you tell them you have a ping/knock problem, and assuming you don't already have the updates. They did mine for that reason, and it did help somewhat, performance did not get worse. But this was a few years ago, I've since really fixed the problem on my own - colder plugs, 28# instead of 26# injectors, lowering the timing by a few percent within a limited low-rpm range, fans on sooner (not a fix by itself, in my experience). If you don't care about problems of running too cold (like unburned junk in crankcase), you can get a 160 thermostat and keep the temp below 185, that should also rid you of pinging.
