Default Falls on face

Please bare with me, Im just starting to learn my HP Tuners software and messing around with it and doing logs, and I notice the car falls on its face when I put the pedal right down. Sure enough according to the logs, it is. This is what the chart display looks like. What do you guys think is going on?

your getting knock and it's pulling the timing.... copy and paste it over your high octane table... use past special by subtracting and it should smooth it out abit more.

Yeh I know that Im getting knock and its pulling timming, thats why I picked that section to show. I was just wondering if anyone had any Idea what could be causing it. I mean, it only happens when I hammer down on the pedal. Makes me think its not timming or fuel related and maybe the knock sensors are picking up knock from the banging of the exhaust or anything else like that. Or is that even possible.

the knock sensors could be picking up some exhaust nosie and what not... pull all what timnig is need to get ride of the knock and go for another drive if you still pick up more it's probally the exhaust or something else...

and that's floored? man my #'s go all the way down to the 1.08-1.12 in the chart...

Ah yes, and if it still retards even after pulling timming, then I know its picking up noise from somewhere external. Yeah thats floored. I rechecked all logs Ive ever done since I had the car and mine never hit anywhere near 1.08+ in my chart.

Post up your chart with the timing on it so we can see where you are in the lower right corner. From the graph, you timing is in the low 20's during acceleration. I was around 24 and ran a 12.73 @ 111 MPH. I should have been a bit faster than that. I haven't been to the track since, but my timing is in the 28-30 range now.

How about asking him what his A/F looks like. Lack of timing or too much feul will also cause knock.

It's in the low 20's during acceleration there, because of the knock retard!

I checked somehwere else where there was no retard during WOT, and its between 25.5 and 27.5 normally.

What I did notice, it might of been purely coincidence.. Is that it seems to only happen when my TPS is at 0% and I hammer down on the pedal. When its anything above that, such as even 1,2,3,4,5% etc, and I hammer the pedal, I dont get any knock retard. Is it possibly a link between a certain timming table when at 0% in drive, compared to having the throttle open and hitting the pedal?

I'd be curious as to where the fuel pressure sits at WOT. A big "sag" in the fuel pressure could cause a momentary lean condition and subsequent "falls on it's face" syndrome. I was amazed after driving my car with a gauge screwed into the fuel rail as to what happens pressure-wise. I cured several drivability problems with that gauge.

Thats an interesting point too, however, how did you remedy the low fuel pressure problem.

If you like, email me an Excel dump of your log. I'm no expert by any means, but just went through the process of determining if I had false KR (I did), then tuning the sensors. What stands out is the amount of KR in other spots.

anubis, does your o2 voltage dip down like that every time it happens in your log files?
