What are you using for a scanner
What are you using for a scanner Ok i have auto tap, and had problems with it logging, not showing the correct info of gagues(like kr,i could hear it knock like crazy but it showed nothing). Sometimes it would work fine and other times it was blaaaaaaaa. Looking at my options and efi live seems to be it. Not sure what version i should get (i do know i can use the auto tap interface with it but cant use bi-directional controlls since its old and i need the updated one). So what should i get efi live, efi live with bi-directional controlls or is there something else out there that you are all using...
yep was looking to upgrade auto tap, always has been hit or miss with it and i can upgrade to efi live for not too much since it still uses the same cable... What about bi-directional controlls, do you guys use them/is it worth the extra price..

Can you interface EFI Live with a wideband or any external devices? I am not too familiar with it. If not, then I would say HPT has to be best. I love how I can log live AFR with the HPT interface.

EFILive has the best scanning tool I have used. You can completely customize it to fit your needs, and it comes with a basic dash that meets most needs particularly for people just starting. It has also removed much of my needs for Excel.

I use OBD-2.com software. It is cheap = $70.00 and it works OK...
I have not mastered the part about getting the LTRM readings. Apparently, you collect data while driving around and then download it into a MS Excel spreedsheet.
My friend did this for me but it seemed very combersome to me...
I mainly use it for collecting code data and turning off the SES light.

What are you goals, to scan only, complete scan of all operating parameters, including traction control and active handling, scan and tune, etc. For scan and tune, your best bets are EFILive and HPTuners, hands down. for scan only, there are several OBD2 scanners out there, for bidirectional scanning (crank relearn, trans settings, individual spark as well as enhanced PCM) get EASE software--you can add modules to even scan active handling, body control modules, etc.
