Something that probably should be also noted is that there is an EFI University for those that want hands on training. Times and Classes are also up on efi's site.

http://www.efilive.com/forum/viewfor...683b5f0f528395

BTW: I am ( was ) also someone that had ZERO knowledge about tuning. After using LS1edit and getting my cam'ed car running ok, then using EFI its running great. Also posting your comments and suggestions up to EFI they do respond quickly whether they can do something or not.

I just got my Flashscan less than a week ago, I was having problem at first too and was feeling the same way you are,but be paitient and read up! I find it's getting alot easer to understand now, I'm starting to love this tuning tool. and the black box feature is real bad ***.

To answer your question though, no, you can't use the LM-1 PID.
Okay, the LC-1 is installed and seems to be functional (no error codes at least). I left my factory NB02 sensors in place since I've heard of some issues with the PCM reading the simulated WB02 signals and I didn't like the idea of splicing into the factory wiring either. Since the rear bungs were not used (C5), I used that location and did a stand alone install.

I installed the LC-1 PID file you sent me (THANKS AGAIN!!!). The LC-1 PID now shows up at the end of the available wideband PID's on the list with the factor EFILive installed PID's. One problem though, it has a cross though it (like all the other unsupported PID's) and when I try to select the PID it gives me a warning message that this in not a valid PID.

What do I need to do to make this PID accessible? Any ideas? I guess I really should take this over to EFI's site, but I see many of the same names are here!

Once I was able to get it running I found the basics very straight forward, but as I read some of the more advanced stuff here on the forums I see there is A LOT to be learned! And yes, the black box is sooooo nice!

Wet1 did you get your LC-1 working? Also, you have to put that before the cats or it will give you a false reading.

I believe it's working (no error codes and the sensor is calibrated and hot). I just can figure out how to access the LC-1 PID in Live.

BTW, no cats here... only the spotted type and they stay in the house.

WET - I got my LC-1 running this weekend and there is a slight difference in the PID Calculation, verified by the guys at EFILive.

From Ace's post, this is the correct formula:
({EXT.AD1}*3)+7.35
({EXT.AD2}*3)+7.35

You will need to update the PID file I sent you.

Also, you need to select the following PID's to get the AFR from the WB into live:
External Analog Voltage n (required)
Wideband AFR n - LC-1 (required)
Commanded Air Fuel Ratio (optional)
Base Efficiency Numerator n - LC-1 (optional)

Where n = 1 or 2 depending on which input you wired into the flashscan box

If you can stand it, wait till Thursday or Friday this week. I'll be posting a pretty thorough step-by-step autotuning procedure on the EFILive forum.

You need to make sure you select the BEN for the LC1. You can find that under your pid list under calculations. That PID, the LC1 PID itslef and the AD1/AD2 PID. All need to be selected to use the wideband.

That's what I needed to know. Again, I'm not sure how to do these things but I'll check the help instructions tonight... unfortunatly I'm not going to have a lot of time to play with this stuff until the weekend.

Okay guys, I just looked for these items and made the calc correction to the above file using Ace's values (BTW, the EFI help instructions are near useless IMO!). I was not able to find the specific items you guys listed.

What I did find which was similar was under Pid_info under the PID folder (using Win Explorer):
Ext.AD1=None
Calc.AFR_LC11=None
Calc.AFR_LC12=None
Calc.BEN_LC11=None
Calc.BEN_LC12=None

I tried changing these to "=1" and saved the new values. When I opened the Scan tool, the PID for the WB LC-1 was still crossed out (not valid). After closing the scan tool and going back under Pid_info is see the values are now changed back to "=None". BTW, I didn't have anything connected while doing this...

I'm obviously trying to make changes in the wrong place. Could you guys be specific where and how I need to make these changes please?

Here is the SAE generic file that you will need. Copy this file to here:
C:\Program Files\EFILive\V7\Configuration

Reopen the scanner and it is all setup for you.
