Default Tuning question.

Heres the scenerio - I installed 3.42 gears, a TCI SSF convertor (tightened up a touch), and 295/50-15's (26.7-in tall). I used my HP Tuners software to recalibrate the gear, tire size and diameter. I also recalibrated the shift points at WOT to 5500/5500/5800 as well as moving the "P/N cutoff" and "Bad Vss Cutoff RPM" to 6700.

Having done all of this the car drives MUCH better at part throttle and all the way up to maybe 8/10ths throttle but when hammered all the way to the floor it still appears that it is getting onto the rev limiter before it shifts. Is there something that I missed? I am beginning to think that I have a bad spark plug as well but I do not see how that could be making it appear as if it is on the rev limiter. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Jim C.

PS- I did a search in the forums for various subjects relating to this but didn't really find anything that pertained to my delima here or at the HP site.

I don't know much about automatics but i'll give it a shot. To shift both the shift speed and rpm must be met so make sure your shift speeds aren't too high.

Thanks, I will take a look at that and make sure to adjust the shift speeds as well. Thank you for your help.

Can one scale this feature or do I need to calculate it myself to match the shift RPM?

If you have a log file, just look at the speed you're at right before you hit the rev limiter.
