Voltage, can tuning affect this? May be coincidence, but after I converted A4 to M6, I can't use my AC. If I turn my AC on, after a few minutes, SOMETIMES doesn't do it at all, but randomly my voltage will drop all the way down to the point where the car dies and I need a jump start. I had a VERY good mechanic friend check it out, and we swapped the alternator AND battery. DId load test, the load tests are fine at idle, but after driving around, everything starts dieing out. What could be going on? I need a direction, so PLEASE help. Could a tune affect this somewhow?
My A4 did this from new but after I raised the idle RPM
it hasn't. I believe it's an alternator / regulator problem.
The field current has to run higher to make demanded
current, when shaft RPM is less. This puts max power
dissipation onto the field current driver in the alt regulator
and I believe it goes into some sort of thermal limiting
(because I only encountered this on hot days, max
electrical load).
You might want to check the load-bump idle airflow stuff,
as well as raising the base idle RPM to some more stable
(i.e. more room to bounce, before dying) value.

that is when I notice this too, here in FL on HOT days, max electrical load. Can you tell me in IDIOT terms where to find these settings? Also HOW to adjust them.

Also, when my electrical system starts acting up, engine temps start getting HOT like 230 degrees PLUS, dunno if this is related somehow. This all ONLY happens when AC is on. I can't figure it out.
