I am cleaning up my wire harness. This is in a custom application. No smog, no a/c, no electric tranny, no gauges, no MAf, no o2 sensors, no AIR system, no oil level sensor, no lighting, etc, etc. This will have a cable throttle. I need to know the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM to make the ls1 run. I will have the pcm tuned to my application. Correct if I am wrong, I am looking at using these connections only: coil packs, injectors, throttle body (2 connections TPS, IAC), alt, cam position, crank position and knock sensors. Everything else will be deleted from the pcm and its wire harness. I will be using all aftermarket gauges and senders, therefore all stock sensors and senders will also be deleted. Does this sound do-able without any problems? Do I need the purge selenoid? If not, can I just install a vent line in its place? Thanks for any info, Joey

I think you will need the stock cyl head temp sensor, but not sure, sorry I cant help you out more, but sounds interesting.

What exactly does that sender do or control? I know it reads the temp, but if it is deleted, what will be the problem? Thanks.

You need,
Front o2s,

coil pack connectors and harness,

intake air temp,

fuel injectors,

map sensor,

tps sensor,

cam sensor,.

crank sensor,

ground on back of head,

coolant temp sensor, " for fueling and spark tables in pcm"

That should be it, The rest can be cut out safely.

I need all that just to run the motor? I understand the why most of them are needed, but why the o2, air temp, MAP and the coolant temp??? Please elaborate. Most of these sensors are not even on my motor?

A couple of hex changes in the bin, redo the checksum and delete a couple of codes. Or, Efilive does it for free with there custom operating systems if you own their programming software. That will allow dual spark tables.

As for the sensors i said above. they are needed for a properly running motor.

So, in lamans terms?? Sorry, I am a novis when it comes to computer controlled motors. If these sensors will only send a code or an ses, that is ok with me, I wont have the ses light. I just do not want to lose performance. Thanks again.

O.K. now that I got all the idiot questions out of the out of the way, I have the correct connections in place. My next question is for the two rear o2 sensors, can I delete the plugs for them or do I have to run the sims? Again thanks for the input.
