oil on spark plug threads
oil on spark plug threads Planned on dynoing the car today, replaced stock plugs with NGK's and found oil on the threads of plug #4. The resistor was clean and looked the same as all other plugs, car has no issues, no smoke, etc. Any clues? I am a little wary of putting the car on the dyno until I get some feedback. Thanks.

did the oil come from an external source? clean it off, replace it and run the car around then pull it out again....
If you have a compression testor use it on #6 and compare the results to a few other holes..
I use a special thread lube on most threads that contact aluminum - including plugs

Any oil that leaks seems to find it's way to the plugs. Kinda like socks disappearing in the dryer. Mine have stuff on them from time to time. Unless a compr check or smoke says you have a problem, I wouldn't worry about it.
