Bad knock sensor?
Bad knock sensor? I have been gettin a code lately that says low voltage from knock sensor 1. When i had the intake off this week i looked at teh wires and all and there was nothing weird lookin. The code always goes for the #1 sensor. Any ideas?

It probably is a bad sensor. They go bad frequently. If you do a search you'll read all about it. When you change it make sure you put some RTV around the rubber boots to seal them up. I'd also recommend changing the wire harness while you're in there.
Is Chevy the only place that i cna get them, or is there better ones liek teh LT4 ones were better then the LT1 sensors. Thanks for the help. I wasent sure if they were something that goes bad frequently. Thanks

I believe for 99-02 they're all pretty much the same.. 98s were the year that had 2 choices (stock and better stock)
You're 100% positive there's no pinch in the wires? (they can break w/out showing external damage) ... did this problem start after having the intake off (perhaps an LS6 intake swap?) or did it start w/no modifications being done?
Try swapping the 2 knock sensors... if the problem follows the knock sensor then the sensor is to blame... if it stays at the same sensor... then you have a wiring problem

I had the intake off for the first time this week and the problem came before the intake was off. I had it off for a cam adn heads swap. I was stupid and didnt get new sensors for then. I wouldnt doubt that water has gotten into the KS and f'd it up. I had a issue with the turbo touchin the radiator cause of the location of the turbo adn a leak springing out of the radiator. So the fluid got low from leakage and then over heated. The whoiel engine got soaked adn im sure that water make its way under there. Thanks for the help. Ill be ordering them on monday.

When mine went bad it was a little wet. I have no idea how since I don't pressure spray my engine bay or anything like that. There's quite a few place you can get them. I actually bought mine from a company I saw on eBay. You can also buy them from Autozone with a lifetime warranty I believe. Much cheaper than a dealer obviously.

I cleared teh code again today and it is teh 3027 code saying "short or low voltage from KS 1" not verbadium but close. Orderin it on monday when teh world opens up for another week!
