Unhappy 98 PCM interrupted when erasing...

A guy opened up my friends car door during the middle of him erasing and trying to program his PCM w/HP Tuners. Nothing took, and now nothing works. I think the PCM is blown. Can this be fixed? Or does he have to get a new one and load the orig program back into it? also, how much does a new PCM cost? Thx in advance!

try reflashing HPTuners doesnt kill PCM's unless you are the anomoly. I pulled the cable whjile flashing a 98 and waited a few seconds and was able top restart the flash...

Was this a calibration re write or a full rewrite

opening a door should not cause a problem when flashing. You don't even want to know my normal reflash procedure, but it is not conservative at all.

I would check the trouble codes, as long as there is not a P605 or P606 you should be able to recover it, just try to flash it again to a saved file. (note, MUST be from the original pcm read, or a read from the same OS)

Did the battery die when you were uploading the tune?

Battery was probably low, dome lights put it over the edge. Heck i've had people turn on signals, radio, doors and hatch but never lost a pcm due to it.

I draw the line at 11.5 volts. Any lower i'll have them charge it up before flashing.
