I just purchased Version 1.5 of LS1Edit. This was a $50 upgrade from my original purchase of Version 1.05 that is about 3 year old.
Question: Are these two versions completely compatible?
Q2: Will I have issues if I try to modify a flash file with Version 1.5 that was originally modified by Version 1.05?
Q3: Is is saftest to just download the current stock file from my PCM using Version 1.5 and work (modify) only from that file?
Q4: Is the crappie documentation (tuning directions) still crappie?

should have no issues , if anything I believe it's safer now because they finally added a Partial write (like what HP Tuners has used from the beginning)
I would get a fresh download from the PCM though... and use that as the base... your 1.05 files should work just fine, but were it me i'd start w/a fresh read
not sure about the documentation... but I'm guessing it's about on par w/the beta version of their scanner

I'm reading the documetation (instructions) now. Who wrote this piece of garbage? ...totally useless!
Now that you mention the Beta scanner issue, I will ask another question or two
Q1. Does the Beta scanner attach to Version 1.5 or does it operate as a stand alone tool?
Q2. Can the scanner monitor LTrims for the purpose of tuning fuel and spark advance?

It is a standalone item ... works w/the LS1 Edit cable (if you have another scanner... it's probably much better than the beta LS1 Edit has... it's been the same file since I downloaded it back in December 04)
Not sure what it can scan though... I think it's pretty limited

OK - thanks.
GM replaced my PCM so the file currently loaded in my PCM is 100% stock. This is why I prefer to use an older Edit file that has the mods I was using before my PCM went bad.
I tried to make notes to document all changes but the space is limited.

You will have to do a read on the new pcm, as it will have a different segment code (or something like that) than the original. Trying to flash it with your old file probably would not work.
