Default Need help fast....high charging...

I just finished trying to do a motor mount swap, but couldn't get the bolts off so I just packed up and left put everything back together and now I'm getting off the chart voltage on the gauge. I assume the gauge is working as it doesn't immediatly jump to 18 volts. If I touch the gas the air bag light comes on and so does the check gauges. Can someone help me on why my battery would read such high voltage. I of course removed the alternator, but what could cause the high voltage? I don't see what could cause it.

Did you verify the voltages with a meter? Also, did you get all the grounds hooked back up?

It's a new alternator. I'll go and take it off and reconnect everything to be sure. Otherwise I don't know what to do.

Did you unplug the wire on the top of the alternator when you removed it? It is a pretty small gauge wire that often gets ripped out of it's connector when people remove the alternator because they do not know it is there.

I plugged it back in, I guess it wasn't in all the way or something. I ended up taking it all back apart and re-installing it. Everything works fine now. Except for the bad o2's and extremely fouled out plugs Any idea on how fouled out plugs and/or bad o2's will affect your engine. Besides the fact that I get exactly half the gas mileage I used to get? Can I really mess something up riding around a day or two before I change the plugs and o2's?

Search! LOL

The biggest risk you take is deflating your walet.

if you are throwing the code for your B1 sensors, then you car has reverted to the OL table. The stock OL table is a "safe" rich tune to get you back to the dealer for new sensors. I'd bite the bullet and get new plugs sensors and save the gas money for new mods
