Angry Keep going through O2's Why??

I got the P1153 code and replaced my b2 s1 O2. No codes for two weeks then P1153 again reset pcm 3 days code free then code reset again 2-3 more days no code then the code again this time I replace it with the 13111 rear vette O2... two weeks code free then code reset pcm 3 days code free then code reset again 2-3 more days no code then the code again. I am sure if i get a new O2 I can go code free for around 2 weeks and then it will pop back up.

The engine is stock so what could this be from? I never started having this problem until I had my engine out and rebuilt... could there be any connections??

I am also getting 180 miles to a full tank (12-13 mpg) also even when I am code free for 2 weeks or so after a new sensor.

I do not have a scanner. I am pretty sure I am running rich but I do not know if thats what is causing bad o2's or the bad o2's make it rich? Even with a new o2 I get 12-13 mpg city. Like I said none of this happen pre rebuild.

With gas prices so high this is getting expensive not to mention annoying. I am about to say screw it and go to open loop but they charge $450 to tune, plus I really would like to fix it not just delete it.

Any ideas why after rebuild or why it is ok for 2-3 weeks with a new sensor and then once the code pops up it is like 2-3 days without a code until I get a new sensor?

The Description for the code is exaust gas not heating up or something like that.... Whatever that means

You answered your own question. I wouldn't spend the money for another tune. Take those bucks, save a few more to go with it, and pick up a copy of EFILive (www.efilive.com). You will then be enabled to tackle all of your tuning needs.

Until you can do something to adjust your tune, try putting your stock MAF back in. Modified MAF's tend to do some hit-or-miss stuff.

when i had my GMS maf in, it caused my car to run rich, not that rich but rich enough to set a code. i also agree about buying tuning software if u have time to do the tuning and plan on doing more mods in the future. i have HPTuners and love it. i think that there is a thread comparing efilive to hptuners.

How much are they and how hard is it to learn how to tune?

it most likely related to the MAF running the engine way to rich... sensor2 right after the cat... dont buy anymore O2,s

Exhaust leak.

The exhaust leak is spilling extra O2 onto your oxygen sensor. This is fooling it to indicate lean. The car reacts to the false signal by dumping gas in to try and get the a/f back to where it thinks it should be. If it was the MAF you would be going through both bank O2 sensors, not just one side.
