Default Factory Security System Problems on a 98 Trans Am

When the lock or unlock buttons are depressed to arm and disarm the alarm and lock the doors, the headlights are now starting to come up and close where as they didn't do this before. The car would just flash the parking lamps and fog lights. Also when the lights go down, the one headlight motor I assume makes a loud grinding noise after the headlights are closed. Any idea on the cause of this? I assume the headlight motor is going to need replaced due to the grinding, but what could the security problem be. Also on a couple of occassions the car would not start and the security light in the dash would stay on.

Default

it is all related to the stripped gear in the headlight motor.
