Default Disappointing numbers

Had this installed and dyno tuned by Mike Norris on my '02 Z06:

G5X-3 112lsa
AFR205 heads milled with 921 springs
flycut pistons
LSX 90mm intake
NW 90mm TB
160 stat

Already had LG headers, Corsa Ti race exhaust and Vortex intake. Result was 450 hp/383 tq. No reflection on Mike, his reputation speaks for itself. I was very pleased with the service I got from him, but why the low numbers, especially the torque??? Any suggestions? Didn't do a baseline to compare unfortunately....

Here's the chart:

Mike doesn't think he can get much more out of her, but will try. Not looking for my car to be a dyno queen, I road race it, but the torque number bothers me.

On the bright side, took her out with the street tires on and can't really tell how much improved it feels because there's NO TRACTION! Gotta get her to the track to really see.

I'm guessing you might be able to get a little more tq if you play around with the AFR and spark between 4500 and 5500 RPM's. I can't remember where, but I thought I saw something that said peak tq AFR should be around 12.2 (looks like you're @ 12.6~12.7). Don't expect much though. It's probably just the way the cam was designed to perform.

We have put a few Fast 90 setups on stock Displacement mtrs. They all have had the same complaints. We took them back off. Just my fyi. Im sure it has nothing to do with the tune, Mike knows what he is doing!

Default Numbers

I also dont think you can get much more out it. I dont know what all that setup cost you but I have tuned BONE STOCK C-5's with the P1sc prochargers with 8lbs of boost and the lowest made 464 RWHP and the others averaged in the 500 RWHP mark, I do not remember the torque numbers but I beleive they were around the 450 to 500 range also..

looking that graph it almost looks like HP is still just barely climbing at 6600/6700 rpm. I wouldn't shift a stock bottom end at 7000, but I'll bet this would be ideal for your set-up along with 4.10s or higher gear.

If you want more tq you could try any adjustable timing chain and see what happens if you advance the cam 2 - 4*.

Are your L-T 1.75" or 1.875" ? I have 1.875" and my dyno is the same look as yours; weak in the torque, but the HP carried out really well in the high 6000 rpms

Isn't Norris's dyno supposed to be a little on the stingy side? I'd be happy with those numbers...that's a stout combo.

My friend has a 2000 ta m6 w/lpe cam and hooker long tubes and 4.10 gears. Made 390rwhp 380 rwtq on mustang dyno. thats roughly 420rwhp 410rwtq on dynojet. I have a 96 z-28 m6 383 ported stock heads/ comp custom grind, shorty bbk headers, 3.42 gears. Made 360rwhp 350rwtq on dyno jet. We go out and do kicks and I pull him down low, he pulls me through the midrange and then I pull him again at top of fourth. If I had 4.10 I would probably pull him a car or two. My point is dynos are for tuning. If my car only made the power It laid on the dyno, my friends car would of handed me my ***!!! That was not the case though.
