Default vin # question...

i currently have a Ed Wright tune on my car, i was wondering does Ed flash your computer with your cars Vin #, when he tunes it? may be a stupid question, just looking to find out. thanks

Probably... he probably reads your PCM, makes his changes and then rewrites... would be no need to touch the VIN (he probably only writes the calibration portion anyways so it wouldn't touch the VIN at all)

well what i did was he sent me a pcm, and then i sent him mine in replace cause my car was at the shop, so i wouldn't be waiting for him to ship me out a pcm, and i had to drive to the shop. so i couldn't ship him mine till i was at the shop.

How would Ed have known your VIN unless someone gave it to him before he shipped your new PCM?
