Exclamation Help Blinking SES and Misfire.....

A Friend of Mine asked for my help and I thought that I would turn over to ya’ll
He took his car to AutoZone for a free Diagnostic after his SES started blinking. He was told that he had a misfire on cylinder number 5. So we start off by replacing the Spark Plugs with NGK’s tr55’s and new wires. So we start it up and the same thing is going on, we go back to AutoZone and still have that misfire. What else can we look for? Also he says that the SES light started flashing right after he raced. Any Ideas?

New coil packs or a possible broken pushrod.

have you tried cleaning the maf sensor. sometimes when it clogs up it sets off all different codes. I had a misfire on #6, and only after new wires and plugs did we figure it out. you can clean it with contact cleaner the fast drying type, or rubbing alchol. you can atleast try it, its free and might save you some time.

opps didn't see that you were blowing smoke.

o1black I am pretty sure you need to have your fuel filter replaced and replace your injector's. I've fixed this on a couple car now.

1320 racing your's could be the same problem but I won't bet the bank on it. alway's worth a shoot though.

swap the coil pack to a different cylinder, see if code moves. can also swap injectors. also check the springs/rocker/pushrod on that cyclinder.
