Default Free Flash program?

I'm looking for a free shareware program that I can download that will allow me to upload my .bin tune into my '97 LT1. Tried CATS Win Flash but it only works on '94/'95 LT1's. Is there something similar to CATS for '97's?

Thanks

Is there any software besides LT1_edit that will upload a .bin file onto my car?

Well if you have a tune e-mailed to you and you have a 94/95 LT1 then you can use CATS Win flash to upload the tune. But thats about all it does. Check out http://tunercat.com/ and on the left hand margin you'll see a list of programs. I have a '97 though and it useless to me.

Anyone know of any software besides LT1_edit that will allow me to upload a .bin file ionto my '97 OBDII LT1

What are you basing that TC assessment on?

your posts on monodox about having to unhook the battery or pull fuses to just do a simple read of the computer I didn't say there were any programs better...i just said its not all that good...considering there still is no scanner included to my knowledge & from what i read alot of people have issues not only with reading their lt1 files but many others. Email support is...eh...and there are very few active sites to help you through issues specific to TC.

just the demo version...but if that was a smart comment aimed at disclaiming my points I'll quote the thread

"Everytime I read a PCM with the OBD-II software on LT1's, I come across the same problem. After the read, I turn off the ignition for a LOT more than 30 seconds and then try to start the car up but it wont. I have to unhook the battery for like 10 minutes and it would start up fine. Is this a problem that only I'm having, or have others experienced it? It's happened on 2 cars already ... well, I've only read 2 PCM's for now."

you-"Seems to be the norm on every 96-97 I read. Only does it on reads, never on writes. I've contacted TC about it and since so far there is no fix, it guess it is considered a feature and not a problem. I believe pulling the PCM fuse will do the same thing as unhooking the battery cable and may be easier."

and as far as the scanner goes not many of Tc owners have even "used" that lol since its still in beta as far as I know.

Your quoting my post from another forum does not embarass me one bit or prove your point about TC being not all that good. Sorry. LT1s don't use the same PCM as LS1s. I never said it was a problem. It is just different than reading a LS1 PCM. I believe OBD1 LT1 guys have been having to reset their PCMs after editing for years. Does that make the programmer "not all that good"? No, just makes the procedure different. What is the alternative to TC for 96-97 LT1s? HP Tuners? Flashscan?, no only VIN locked LT1Edit. You can't compare a demo version of their OBD1 editor to their OBD2 stuff. And you are the one always trying to discredit TC as a viable alternative to other higher priced options. That is why I almost fell out of my chair when I read on another forum that you were considering purchasing TC.
