If you have GM's TIS and a Tech2 you can set the miles in a new cluster one time. Doesn't allow miles to be set back.

Stored 100% in the cluster, that's why when we replace a cluster, there's a $25 programming fee to set the correct mileage to it.

Can HP tuners be used to change the mileage in a cluster being installed into a 2000 to the correct mileage stored in the ECM, or is it programmed another way?

I don't know what you have, but as far as I know all the late model stuff with a digital display stores vehicle mileage in the BCM. Last I heard hptuners could not get into the BCM.

If you swap clusters, the mileage is whatever is in the cluster. My question was if there was a way to reprogram in HP Tuners the swapped cluster to the mileage that was on the cluster it replaced. This would be in a 98-02 F-body.

Most late GM cars and trucks, a *new*BCM, or cluster, can be programmed *one time* with the vehicle's mileage. Can be done with the GM version of a Tech 2, and the correct GM software. Can't be changed. Can't roll the miles back. I have been asked to do that more than once. LOL

I'm all set guys. I swapped just the overlay from the old cluster into the new one, so my mileage is correct.

Correct, we can program clusters, bcm's, any almost any GM, BUT you cant do any of those with HPT, thats what was being asked. We use GM software along with several other programs depending on what we are programming.

Interesting stuff. On my Z28 the trip odometer resets to zero every time the key is turned off, then back on. No big deal but its kind of annoying. Any ideas on that?
