i can understand the OLFA tables at cold temps/low MAP, but why have it a higher temps/higher MAP when PE should be commanding anyway ?

i'm refering to OLFA in general, why high ECT/MAP tables when PE should be commanding anyway ?

for reference....teh computer commands whichever is the richer of the 2..OLFA / PE
it always commands whatever it finds to be the richest

I understand how it's used but why have it at all for anything other than cold start open loop ? Why have 2 open otables that do the same thing (PE,OLFA) ?

becasue PE doesnt command anything at part throttle...and as my reference above to teh supercharger guy who takes of quick on a cold start...and he runs way lean until it gets warmed up.....and then PE will be correct because fo the adder

Open loop is designed as a fail safe from what I understand for if your O2's malfunction, it reverts back to a safe AFR. If you have lazy/sleepy o2's, they aren't as accurate so you eliminate the problem. Switch to open loop where you have a more consistent way of fueling.

also your car remains in open loop until you get up to a certain operating temperature...defined in the closed loop vs ect table
