Default Tach Signel Wire (Pin #10 on PCM) Problems

Ok so we pinned out my harness and got rid of the body control stuff, etc... Well what we did was cut the #10 wire short and ran our own wire. It goes about 3ft or so then is Y's into the Tach and the Window Switch. The problem is the tach does not read, and the Window switch will not read either. We have everything soldered together, no butt connectors,etc.. The PCM reads a RPM reading... I have a Alcatron unit that can tell RPM and stuff via a wire, like if you wanted to see if a tach should be working. It reads the RPM perfect if it is connected to the wire right before it Y's out. So we thought maybe it was the Y that was causing neither to work, so we just made some little connections using butt connectors and neither unit works.

Is there something I'm missing. I have the wires cut on both parts so its reading as a 4cyl like it should. Both units have worked before, but now we cannot figure out why they arent now.

it was a rule a long time ago that when hooking up a tach wire you "do not cut" the wire but tap into it... dont know how you would go about fixing the pcm or whatever after the wire is cut.... did you try disconnecting your batt. for 15min.?

We had to cut the wire mainly because of the fact it had no where to go really.
