KO Box results>
I got 33.5 advance and 0 KR on a 20 degree day at WOT with MAFT at +4% rich. Run before the KO box was as above. Car felt real good. Looks like it cured my problem. I expect it will drop back to 30 advance when it warms up. Hope to redyno and pick up that lost HP.
I am completely satisfied with the plug in KO box.
Thanks, Joe.
I would NOT put one on a car UNTIL u verify u have REAL KR r could damage your engine.ONLY after u verify its false kock then go ahead and run the KO box.
Throw 2 gallons of 100 unleaded in the car an autotap to verify. If its still there then its fasle and u can run the KO box.But if it goes
away, thats REAL KR and u need to cure the problem another way.

Thansk for thie info, but I alrady knew hot to test for real ro false knock, hehe. Just needed to know how hard it is to install it if you get it with that plug-in harness option. You do not have to take off the intake and stuff, right? Thanks!

Joe, I used to get false knock on hard launches and sometimes between gear changes too. This KO-Box will definitely get rid of that stuff.

Tony,
I've noticed a quick blip of ~2 degrees on shift changes too, and up to ~5 under load in high gear/low RPM. I have 0 KR at WOT though. My SP is usually around only ~24 or so.
Now, I noticed he posted an overall higher SP number after your box was installed. Does the math on that add up? Why was his total SP higher than his previous SP + his KR?
TIA
Chris
PS: I don't think i have real KR issues. I've monitored it for days, weeks now, off and on, and my dyno numbers are quite good considering I'm ~stock
again, TIA

Thanks for the welcome Tony. I have been doing some business travellling so now I finally have time to come over here and learn some more stuff from you guys.
Cant wait to get my stage II heads on and break the clutch and rear again
That what you're asking?
And (always an and...) If i have 0 KR at WOT with about 24/25 total spark advance but just about ~2 KR under low rpm/high gear load, would that be considered insignificant?
That's my story; I'm sticking to it.
EDIT: my WOT O2 readings are 88.x - 89, so I'm doing very well there--wouldn't want it leaner. I'm also at about 3500 elevation with cold/dry air (Tucson, AZ)at the moment.

I guess it's according to who you ask. I, being the perfectionist that I am, would consider KR that causes my WOT timing advance to be only a max of 24/25 to be significant. The KR is kicking your timing advance's butt at low rpms and it's not having enough time to fully recover by high rpms. If you want high timing advance in those upper RPMs you'll have to kill the KR in the lower RPMS.
