Hypertech + MAFT
Just wondering if using the power programer then tuning with the MAFT would help my timing? Here are my ATAP numbers:
LTRIM (B1) = -0.205 (Normal Driving)
LTRIM (B2) = +0.885 (Normal Driving)
02B1S1 = .881 (WOT)
02B2S1 = .894 (WOT)
Timing = 22 (WOT) (6,000 RPM)
KR = 0 (WOT)
I am using HPPIII for gears, fans, etc. but not the "power programer". I have read posts here that you gain approx. 2-3 degrees of timing with HPPIII. I know that 2001 and 2002 have less timing than older models but I feel that 22 is too low. Should be around 25-26. Anyway, any thoughts here would be helpful.

I was in your same position last week with the MAFT and HypertechIII, except I think my timing was 26-28 @ WOT Made a few runs at the track and did not have Atap, but did bring along HypertechIII. So we decided to add the power tuning. No noticable difference but I did manage to knock out a extra MPH on one of the runs.
Next day ran Atap and noticed that YES, the timing was advancing at WOT and the avg's were now 30-31 BUT I was getting the KR back and my O2's at WOT were very lean, e.,g .80-.81.
So, thought I could fix the problem by bumping up the WOT on the rich side. Ran it up to 6% rich and still had lean O2's @ WOT. BTW, this is not the way you want to work the power curve so today,
Im back to "no power tuning", a lean WOT setting on the MAFT and will take some data tonight.
Hope things are back to normal
Later
