VE table question Question on cause and effect..
The cells in the VE table according to the map sensor readings, correct?
What events take place after a particular VE cell is selected? Is the injector duration and timing changed, just injector duration or does it just select another cell in a different table which then acts upon timing and fuel?

VE(MAP,RPM) is used by the speed density airflow
mass calculation. That, and the MAF reading (via
MAF calibration table) are "blended" in varying
proportions (0-100% for either, depending) and
smoothed & filtered to arrive at dynamic airflow
and dynamic cylinder air. Timing is driven off
CylAir (main high octane table) and then bent
by various environmental adders, retard events
and such. Fuel I'm pretty sure in the end is also
tun off the dynamic airflow or CylAir value, to
get a final injector pulse width (many modes
& modifiers on this side as well).
