I don't think you would have fried the relay, but check it anyway.

Yeah, I don't think so either but it's always easier to pull fuses and relays to make SURE than to pull the starter.....It's best to check the small stuff and then go to the bigger things...

I've checked all the fuses and I have checked the relay. I also switched the relay with a relay for the fan. It's the same size and number so I figured it would be the same. No difference. There is one small fuse for the starter. A small one for pcm ign, and a big (50amp) for ignition. No big one for the actual starter. Anyhow I'll probably be getting off of work early today so I'll be getting it fixed today for sure hopefully.

Like I said earlier there might be a fusible link in the cable that goes to the starter. Since a couple hundred amps might go through that line a fuse won't cut it.

Well guys, I took it to autozone. The battery tested good. The starter tested bad. Well guess what. Autozone, Advance Auto Parts, and Pep Boys, all do not stock the ls1 starter. I need to have it installed by 8:15 tomorrow morning. I'm going to try Napa and Carquest. Who knows when they open on Saturday's though. I'm really frustrated. Had to work late today too, and I was doing crappy stuff. Sealing about 300 sheets worth of drawings for the Architectural firm I work for. That sucks since I'm normally sitting in a comfy chair drawing on the computer or looking at ls1tech

Yeah I know...well hey it looks like we got one of the problems out of the way now it's off to find a new starter...Napa might actually have it...Reason I say that is that they guarantee that they can get any part and they usually seem to have all of the oddball parts that no one else has...But if need be I may look at the dealer but I would use them as a LAST resort...Good luck

Well Pep boys will be the last resort. They had one, but it was brand new and $210. I was hoping I wouldn't have to spend that kind of cash.

Ouch!!! What kind of warranty?? I would call around and see if anyone else has it or can order it....Even if they don't have it in stock I believe Pep Boys might price match...

Well that's normal for a brand new one. I'm looking at a remanuf. for ~140. Much better, but still a lot of coin. I need this thing tomorrow before 8am. So, no good with ordering. If I have to I will but I think I will just spend the 210 for the new one before that. I want to get my car tuned without having to make a double trip down to Tampa. I don't have a lot of free time to just take trips.

It was the starter. Problem solved with new starter. Thanks for all the help guys. A little dissapointed in the new dyno numbers but I think my engine is worn out a little with 107,000 miles on it. It made like 378rwhp 367rwtq. Don't remember the exact numbers. Anyhow it doesn't really matter to me. It drives a lot better and feels faster (probably because the area under the curve is quite a bit different) The dyno doesn't start until 3000rpms so it's hard to get a true accurate reading about low-end power, but oh well. I'll post the graph later on sometime. It's in the car and it's raining, plus I'm tired. I'm ready to get some more money so I can rebuild the engine completely.

Good deal and those numbers aren't that bad...I bet that they'd be good for low 13's\high 12's in you hooked...Glad the starter was it...I would seriously pull my hair out if it wasn't....

You are joking right? These car's run that with a few bolt-ons. I'd say low 12's, if I hooked I could probably get an 11 out of it. Just think there are people running 11.9 in a z06 bone stock. They are 405 at the flywheel so I'm making around what they make probably. I am a couple hundred lbs more though. I don't know. I don't really care. It's good for what I want right now. I'm saving for a beast setup though. Forged 347, blower cam, nice set of heads, and a D-1SC. Going to be looking for 650+rwhp. I'd say it'll be a couple years though because that will set me back a solid 10-15k

Even without the 4.10's you'd be in the low 12's at 115+mph. If you can hook with the 4.10's you're easily in the 11's.
