ls1edit problems help
We are having problems reading the pcm but software install went fine.
> PC we are using is IBM thinkpad 900mhz, 192M, window NT 4.0 patched to 6A. Trying to use com3. Software wont even try to communicate with the PCM. Changed laptop to use com1. Tries to communicate but cant connect to the PCM.
> Install on another older PC (233, 32M, W98) and it just crashes with the blue screen of death.
> Can you give me some advice???

Re: ls1edit problems help
You probably need to disable infrared communications on the laptop.
See http://www.akmcables.com/serial.doc for my procedure on how to disable IR comms. Note that the troubleshooting procedure there is for OBDI interface cables, and does not apply to the OBDII systems like LS1_Edit.
Also, to fully disable IR (I am updating that document to reflect this), there is an Infrared Devices settings icon on the Control Panel (under Start... Settings... Control Panel... Infrared Devices). Be sure to disable it there too.
I'd bet it's the problem, though. It was on my ThinkPad.

Re: ls1edit problems help
Thanks for the tip.
These stupid laptops... After hours of cursing. It turns out the modem was conflicting with the serial port. The serial port was originally COM3. I could not get the software to use COM3, So I switched the modem to COM2 and freed up COM1 for use by LS1 edit.
Any way were up and running. Everything is working fine.
