maft and autotap numbers help
Well, I was at Speed Inc saturday, and now have an ATAP and MAFT. Here some numbers from before the MAFT....
avg
B1S1 B2S1 Avg Timing
0.933 0.9275 25.25
I forgot to record knock retard.
Here are the #'s (86 records averaged) after another couple of runs after setting MAFT to 6 % lean wide open .
B1S1(Volts) B2S1(Volts) Avg Timing KR
0.885 0.866 25.99 0
I think you shoot for .900? Pro-stock John says about .870? Should I fatten it up a bit or leave alone? How can you get more timing? Do I need to mess with Ltrims if under 10% either way?

Re: maft and autotap numbers help
I would recommend keeping the Ltrims close to 0 or slightly over 0 to +5 at cruise which is slightly lean , but will give you more timing than going neg. If your car will allow you to run in the .870-.880 range without knock retard , I'd stay low. Lean is Mean. Because of the climate here in Tx I try to stay in the .890-.910s unless it's cool and dry. My 2001 gets 28 deg max timing , but only avgs out about 25.5 and it runs great as long as the KR is kept out.Good luck.
