Purpose of rev limiter by temp table?
I couldn't find a rationale reason for this since if you look at the revlimiter delay, at temps over ~140F, there was no delay going from the rev limit by temp to rev limit by gear table. So it seemed to contradict itself <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

You can test this out.. set the lower temp rev limits to something safe (say 2500).. and start your cold motor, you will be prevented from reving past 2500 until the engine warms up.
IMO this is nothing but a safety feature to make sure the car is at least a little bit warmed up before you go redlining it....
