I know this sounds dumb, but did you plug the MAF back in? When I did my clutch install, one of the guys helping unplugged my MAF, it ran very well, but the SES light came on. Just a thought?

Hey clubsport.. Not waving the flag for the LS1.com Holden/HSV forums or the Australian Holden and LS1 froums to much but both of them have comprehensive archives about the problems with ported MAFS on Aussie cars.. In any case you will probably find that by porting you standard MAF you have gone outside the calibrated range of the electronics built into the black part of the MAF.. This has been quite common with us Aussies.. The check engine light you are getting will probably be a Lean Cruise code or MAF out of Range code.. They were the 2 I have seen the most.. I would start looking for a spare that you can change it with.. It will only cause you grief.. Peter Amor Motors in Ballarat has them in stock ex HSV Salvage and cheap to.. Get your PCM tuned thats all I can say.. !!
