What kind of HP decrease from missing 02 simm... Read inside, here is why I ask.
I recently lost an 02 simm and although some people say it does not affect performance, I tend to disagree.
I feel that I am getting worse gas mileage and sometimes I get popping on start up.
Could this make me run rich?
It is the 02 simm under the passenger seat where the header comes down.
I am shoing 4 different codes on my a-tap readings as well.

The post 02s (downstream S2s) do have a part in the math PCM uses.
G.M says :
Post 02 Functions
In part it says:
In addition to catalyst monitoring, the post heated oxygen sensor has a limited role in controlling fuel delivery.
If the post HO2S signal indicates a high or low oxygen content for an extended period of time while in a closed loop, the PCM adjusts the fuel delivery slightly in order to compensate.

Damn, that was some good reading man.
How much HP or ET do you think I could be sacrificing running my car like this? I would say from .2 to .4 wouldn't you?
Thanks again.

so if you delete the codes for the rear O2's does it still do that? I assume there has to be a way to turn it off in order to do engine swaps into the older cars...
There is not really any way to say what the hp cost of it is. But it will effect your tuning.
As to the other question - you can turn off monitoring for O2's with LS1 Edit, or with any competent tuner.

Thanks man. I was just wondering how much was possible. I am at around 400 at the rear right now until I get my heads.
