How long after I make a change to my induction (maf,tb,filter, ftra) should I wait to autotap? Milage?
I have sealed my air box, removed my baffles, lid, filter, fernco. My auto tap after driving like this for about 1k miles showed rich (mid nines)
After removing my maf screen and porting it showed in the sevens....I put my spare maf back in. There was only about 15 miles of driving with the newly ported maf before I auto tapped. Does this make a difference? Should I have given it more time? I know poeple have different results with porting, descreening, etc. I wasn't suprised to see lean numbers, Just wondering if I didn't give the pcm time to adjust?
Thanks For the help,

I don't think it's really a valid question in the context poised - you can autotap your car whenever you like. It really doesn't take the car very long to "learn" changies (which is really generating a stored value in each l-trim cell primarliy) - and after you have just done modifications you can monitor these values/the change in them.
I would autotap immediately

Thanks, I probably should have explained myself better. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" />
What I wanted to know is does the pcm eventually learn to richen or lean based on 02 readings? Or, is what you have all you're going to get? If my car runs lean with a mod(maf)it will always run lean? Or, does the pcm eventually richen the mixture based on the history of lean o2 readings?
Thank you for your help. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I'm trying to learn as quick as I can. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
