Default knock sensor light

Has anyone done a circuit for a knock sensor light (LED)? I.e. LED comes on when sensors detect knock, or maybe more than one LED for different levels of knock. Or anyone know the details of voltage output from the sensors? (I could probably come up with a circuit if I had the specs).

I found this from Casper's Electronics:

Part 102006 Knock Gage Installation Kit with BLK Face and BLK Trim

<img src="http://www.casperselectronics.com/cgi-local/store/Html/Images/102006-1.jpg" alt=" - " />

This kit permits installation into many other vehicles which use a GM Piezo-style Knock sensor. Attaches to the engine sensor wire in the engine bay, displays severity of detonation indication using three different colors on the LED display. Gage is standard 2-1/16" diameter. Comes with ESC Converter module, wiring harness, BLK Face Knock Gage, and toggle switch. DOES NOT INCLUDE KNOCK SENSOR. GM Knock Sensor available separately if needed. Wiring is simple: Three wires, POS 12v, NEG 12v and signal attachment to Knock sensor under hood. All Plug-ins included.
Price: $169.00

too sensitive at times and does not regester at others.
i say just go with the one in summit for about the same price and you can adjust the sesitivity.

Is there a cheaper way to do this? Like ghetto-rig something with parts from Home Depot? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

We have been using the Engine Knock Alert that summit sells for about 2 years now on many different vehicles and I love it. Sensitivity adjustment is a must. On my 94 turbo integra you have to turn the sensitivity waaayyy down to accomodate for the v-tec dampers. On a customers car (civic) you have to run it at full sensitive. On the ls1 you dont need it just a logger to watch/log the knock sensor.
