Default How much for reprogramming??

A couple of months ago I had The Vette Doctors put a Stage II heads and cam on my car (check sig for all mods). Now they reprogrammed everything for me and stuff but at the time when they did the install I didn't have the money for the headers so I didn't get them. Now I have the money and I want to do the header install myself and just have them do the retuning so that my car runs optimily. How much do you think they'll charge me to redo the tuning if I do the install or what would be a reasonable price on the tuning if I've already had them do the tuning already??

Thanks

Tuning with a wideband AF on a dyno?

MIght be a partial tune, or full, depends on how they charge.

Dyno tunes (not including the dyno cost) can run about $400-600 for the car.

Yeah but I had the car done there already. I know it's not a full tune cause I already had them tune it. I don't plan on paying 400-600 on tuning again when I already had them do it. The only thing they might have to do is play alittle with the A/F mixture. I hope they don't plan on charging me that much.

The best thing would be to call them and ask them, not us.

I would, however, anticipate $100-$150 to 'update' a tune with no dyno time, and probably at least $150-$250/hr for dyno tuning with a wideband.

If they're installing the headers etc. they may let you off cheaper, but if not, then expect to pay. Just FWIW. [I've never done business with them, never had any experience with them, this is just typical observation about shops in general on my part.]

Good luck,

Andrew

You know I was in the same situation, I was trying to get the headers in before I did the cam and the tuning. Ups took to long so I had to get the cam and the tuning done. I asked MTI if I had to re-tune the car and they said I didn't have to. Now why would they tell me that? I asked in two different places. Do I have to call MTI and ask them again? This is the setup I have T1 cam, ported MAF,TB bypass, Lid, Ram Air, 3:73, vig2800,PCM tuned with Ls1 edit, before LT Mac headers, with 3" cut out, flowmasters
Do I really have to, to get the most out of them? Or will I get the most out of them with out the tuning? Gees so many questions..lol But this is the way I felt after the tuning with out the headers....
