is anyone still using the pcm tricker?

is anyone still using the pcm tricker? the resistor to trick the pcm of the incoming temperature of outside air, anyone still using this? I am , and thinking of ditching it, will i lose any timing? I have a maft and ported ends and live in florida. thanks.
