WHICH SCANTOOL TO BUY
There are Industrial Strength tools out there like dedicatated scanners and EASE but you pay a good bit more. The features of a package like EASE though are great!
On the positive side, A-Tap is the easist to learn and use and should do you fine.
I HAVE BEEN CHECKING YOUR FORUM AND SEEING PEOPLE SAYING BAD THINGS ABOUT A-TAP. I HAVE IT ON ORDER BUT IT IS BACKORDERED UNTIL 4/12 PLEASE HELP BEFORE IT SHIPS THANKS

The inexpensive scanners are merely monitoring devices. They simply read the output devices and give you the results. These cost $500 or less. The more expensive scan tools go farther. They actually are input devices too. They can tell the devices to turn on and off at your command and you can monitor the results. Activate injector #6. Did it activate? Yes or No? Check injector coil, input voltage and wiring harness. Now your looking at $2000.00 It's only money!

Mongoose, you say the EASE is FAR SUPERIOR to A-Tapp. Just curious, but what is it that makes it so much better? Have you used both?

I am currently using EASE. I have played with A-Tap on other vehicles. Personally EASE is easier and faster at Posting data especially when you want to moniter several parameters at one time. You also have the convenience of monitoring up to 9 guages at one time, or you can set up min. and max. guages. You also have DTC, Acronym and Parameter libraries. Oh Yea, no windows lock-up problems either.

I use 8 parameters in gauges and the DTC's are GREAT.
I haven't had a problem with it.
If you're gonna get a diagnostic, then get a diagnostic. If you're gonna get a programmer, then get LS1Edit.
