Default GM PASS Key idea...

Everyone that has a DMM, measure the resistance across the small "computer chip" in your key. I got 7.48 KOhms exactly. I think the ignition system works off the resistor value but I need some other people to check theirs to verify this. Thanks!

That is how the ignition works. the car is setup for the resistence in the resistor in the key. If it's outside of spec it will not start the car.

There are like 15 different resistances of the keys. Mine is 3.7kohm
