If you do some searching here, you'll see that the factory O2 sensors are not a reliable way to tune WOT as they are designed for part throttle tuning. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

There are several enthusiasts-type WB systems availabe, I can't post the links from my work computer, but do a search.

I did see a thread relating to WB sensors but they seem to cost around three grand. Also, according to everything I've read, you look for your O2 sensor averages while in open throttle(fuel cell 22) and your LTFT's while in fuel cells 1..19 (part throttle). If I'M wrong, someone please step in and correct me cause I'm trying to get my LTFT's and O2 readings where they should be and I'm a little more than confused.

To answer the question, Just get on a road where you can mash on it in second and run it up to redline without disturbing the cops so as to get the WOT readings.

Default Question on monitoring WOT O2 with Atap

I ordered Autotap and a MAFT and will be receiving them tomorrow. My question is: can I monitor my O2s while opening it up around town in 1st and 2nd gear or do I need to go to the track (an hour away) to monitor and tune?

WB's can be bought for well under a grand, the links are out there if you do a search.

If you feel comfortable tuning an expensive engine with an almost-solution, go for it. If all you have is a maft and are not making radical fueling/induction changes maybe is OK. I wouldn't trust it for an engine with serious mods.

After messing with the MAFT a couple of days, I DON'T feel comfortable with it. There are lots of posts where users seem to have successfully tuned with it and the factory O2's but I can't seem to get LTFT's and O2's in order. If there was a shop nearby that could tune this engine I'd be there in a minute.

Thanks for the replies!

I just started messing with Atap today. While trying to learn the program I logged a couple of WOT O2 runs and my O2s where around 0.960

I would guess that I'm running pretty rich at WOT. However, based on the replies to my original post I think I should look into a WB before I install the MAFT.

Thanks again for the info.
