Default MAFT question here

Before MAFT, the car was running rich. B1LTFT was -.339 B2LTFT was -1.982 while in cells 1..19, B1O2 was .936 B2O2 was .939 in cell 22. No KR.
So I set the MAFT base 1 click lean, left WOT at 0 and the LTFT's jumped to 14.648 and 13.465. O2's went to .721 and .608 with no KR.

I set the base back to 0 and went one click, 5% lean on the WOT. LTFT's went to 7.100 and 5.650 while O2's went to .874 and .874. Six frames showed KR at min of 1.8 and max of 3.9

Question is - should I now set the base richer, keeping in mind that this will change the WOT, and then just keep messing around hoping to get it right? Or am I misunderstanding something?

I'm not sure why your LTRIMs went positive when they had been slightly negative. It is easier to tune if your LTRIMs are a bit negative.

That's the thing I don't understand either since what I've read claims that manipulating WOT on the MAFT shouldn't change the LTFT's. I'm going to start completely over, set the MAFT to zero base & wot, reset the pcm, drive the car, and then begin with a new autotap. Since my base readings for LTFT's are slightly negative, they shouldn't need changing. Apparently all that needs to be done is to get the O2 readings below .900 without affecting the LTFT's.

Sounds like your Base is good at 0.You want your L-terms hovering around 0%to negatives. At WOT I like mine around 0%-+2%.Once your set on that, adjust your WOT.Keep in mind that the WOT adjustments have the most affect at 3400rpm up.
