Do I have Auto Tap or EFIlive?
Do I have Auto Tap or EFIlive? I bought a used Autotap to start playing with and the box and the cable say Auto Tap but the C/D that came with it is hand written and says EFIlive V 6.?? (its at home so I can't remeber the other number) Also the receipt from B/B Electronics says EFI live. Does this mean I have tunning software and didn't know it.

Short answer is that "NO" you don't at this stage have Tuning software. What you have is version 6 of the EFILive Scan Tool. You can probably upgrade the license to version 7 of the Scan Tool for free (assuming everything is legit).
But you can also upgrade to the EFILive FlashScan product which is both the Scan and Tune tools. The tuning tool is quite simply AWESOME, and would be a very worthwhile upgrade if you have an interest in tuning.

I was planing on getting HP Tuners in the future. What are the amount of vins or year limitations if I go with the Flash Scan mentioned above instead?

Verdad Gallardo OK, I filled out the form to get validated and had the codes mailed back within a few hours.
Sunday I tryed to connect to the car for the first time and I keep getting a warning that says "unregistered interface found" I entered the serial# and 16 digit letter code exactly several times but it never would take it.
If it makes a differance I downloaded to my home computer, coppied to CD to put in the laptop. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

you need to download the software off of the website for the newest version.
Then to get the new cable that will allow you to tune you can call me and i will give you the details on what is needed.

Not looking to get the FlashScan so I can tune yet. Just trying to make the scanner work. I already downloaded the latest version. Just keep getting the same error when I try to validate it.
