Default LS1 Edit vs. Fastchips

I am going to need my PCM redone once my engine is built. Is LS1 Edit a good program to use to make all my necssary changes or will some outfit like Fastchips do it better. I know someone that can tune a car and knows what all the settings should be based on our altitude and etc. What are your experiences bad, good or indifferent with either method?

Do it yourself. Once Ed does it, your pcm is locked. Also, if you later change injectors or want to change the timing, its gonna cost you an additional 150 bux

Then how do you get the PCM unlocked?

You pay someone to reflash it.

Jackyl,

I agree with Cablebandit. Find someone in your local area that has a good reputation with LS1 edit and a wideband dyno and have them do the tuning. I have Ed Wright custom tuning and my PCM is locked, so If I ever need change the PCM settings even just to adjust the shift points I have to send it back in, wait for it to come back and no else can do it because it's locked. Isn't MMS in your area? I think they do it and seem to have a very good reputation.
