SLP 85MM MAF + MAFT - Is it worth doing?

SLP 85MM MAF + MAFT - Is it worth doing? I've got a 02 WS6 and was running a ported MAF without any problems, untill the temps outside got above 85*, then PING! So now I'm back with the stock MAF.
Is the SLP 85MM MAF & the MAFT the best way to boost HP and tune out detonation or will I just be tuning it back to the stock performance numbers I have now <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> ?

Re: SLP 85MM MAF + MAFT - Is it worth doing? You don't need to spend the extra money for the SLP version of the the 85MM sensor if you have a MAFT. All you need to do is turn on dip switch #4 that will recal the MAFT for an UNMODIFIED 85MM sensor and save you a bunch of cash.

And will I pick up horse power?

Re: SLP 85MM MAF + MAFT - Is it worth doing? Many of us - to include myself - run the SLP 85MM and MAFT. May I say will great success. Some time ago one of the members of this board did a test with the MAF, MAFT, HPP 3 tuning, etc. He was able to gain a good deal using just the SLP 85MM and the MAFT. I can remember the exact numbers gain, but I know from my own experience that this combination picked up my SS.
But - and I say but - you need to get the ATAP (even borrow one if need be) to get the most out of your car. You'll never really know if you are running rich or lean without the ATAP.
