SES Light: ATAP Code P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit

SES Light: ATAP Code P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Every six miles or so I get a diagnostic trouble code, either P0135 or P0155 "HO2S Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 1 (or 2)". After the code repeats ten times I get a SES light which I clear with Autotap. What do you think is the problem?
1. Could I have discnnected or burnt sensor wires?
2. Is the problem with the sensor or the heater?
3. What does an O2 sensor heater look like?
4. How do I get this fixed?

I've just installed BRAND NEW O2 sensors, and it took a little longer than normal, but the codes came back. I'm stumped now.... the only thing I can think of now is a burnt wire in the harness (that's gonna be a b*tch). Using ATAP to monitor the o2s, they are throwing some funky numbers at cruise(some times dropping to .000 volts). And at WOT the go up to .980 volts(I've even tried to lean it out with the MAFT, no luck). If you have any ideas, let me know, seems like we are in the same boat... <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Re: SES Light: ATAP Code P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Are you using cats or an ORP? Some of the mechanics at my work are thinking that the extra heat from the cats keep the O2's in check. I'm using the ORP and they think that the exhaust is not keeping them hot enough..... I going to gets some cats if I can't figure this out soon....

Re: SES Light: ATAP Code P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit TTT since I have the same problem. Just installed MTI heads/cam/intake. I have been trying to research and track it down myself. I have SLP headers, no cats. I also have very irrotic Lterms and O2 readings.

Re: SES Light: ATAP Code P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit i get the same codes, but not as often as some of you guys. i get them at random sometimes P0135 sometimes P0155..and when i clear it, it doesnt come back for a good couple of months. I have tried replacing the sensors but it didnt work.
Re: SES Light: ATAP Code P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit my SES light just came on this weekend guess what PO135 and PO155. I have SLP LT's and RT High Flow Cats. Did you Guys ever figure out the fix for these codes. I also had code PO137 HO2S Circuit low Voltage bank 1 Sensor 2. Any Ideas

Re: SES Light: ATAP Code P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Frist make sure your sensor wires are not burnt near your headers. Make sure that you have good connections to all the sensors or simms. The heater is part of the sensor. When you start your car cold the heater comes on to bring the sensor to 600 degrees. It only has a ginen amout of time to do this. If it doesn't, then you will get a heater code for the sensor. It looks for a voltage change in the sensor to detect that it has heated up. To run dio on the sensors here is what you do. Start car from a cold start and let idle for 5 min. Either in park on neutral with em brake on. If it passes the test it will go into close loop and turn off the SES light.

i work at a chevy dealership and i was asking some of the tech at work today about it and they told me to check my IAC valve on the TB to make sure it wasnt burnt up and i also heard that it will start makin ur car run funny at idle and idle really low at a stop.
i have the same code about the o2 heater and my tuner says its because i have long tube headers with 02 extensions so the 02 isnt getting enough heat to it so its throwing the code out but my car still runs good and the check engine light goes away . this usually only happens with it rains and the long tubes get wet and dont produce enough heat for the o2 jacket.
